Ukraine marks the Day of the Ground Forces on Tuesday, December 12. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman congratulated the servicemen with the holiday in Facebook.
"Honor and glory to the soldiers of the Land Forces, who prove every day that there is no such force that can upset the spirit and will of the Ukrainian soldier. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Land Forces of the Ukrainian Army, "Poroshenko wrote.
"I congratulate our soldiers with the Ground Forces Day! Thank you for courage, patriotism and professionalism! I wish you success and health to every one of you! Ukraine is proud of you," Volodymyr Groysman wrote in the address to the soldiers.
And Chief of the General Staff Viktor Muzhenko noted that today 9,000 servicemen of the Ground Forces were awarded state awards, 16 of them received the title of the Hero of Ukraine.
"Resilience under the heavy shelling of the enemy, inhuman endurance, adaptation to difficult weather conditions - rain, cold, heat, protecting positions and moving around the battlefield all in mud - these are just a small part of the problems Land Forces soldiers face. They demonstrate daily to the Ukrainian people their unshakable will, faith in the rightness of their mission, reasonableness and phenomenal motivation! " Muzhenko wrote on his Facebook page.
