Ukrainians mark the Day of Heavenly Hundred Heroes today, on February 20. They honor the bravery of participants of the Revolution of Dignity and commemorate Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.
This Memorial Day was established by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on February 2015 “to honor the bravery, spirit and resilience of citizens who gave their lives during the revolution of dignity (November 2013- February 2014).”
Heavenly Hundred is a collective name given to the civil protesters who participated and bore the ideas of Euromaidan in Ukraine (the Revolution of Dignity) in December 2013 - February 2014.
Earlier it was reported that Museum of Heavenly Hundred will operate as information and research centre. The government will soon announce an international contest to choose the design of the Museum’s building.
