The date of the beginning of the occupation of the Ukrainian territory by Russia was determined in the draft-law on the reintegration of Donbas. It is a date of the annexation of Crimea as non-affiliated MP Nadiia Savchenko claimed in the parliament as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.
Savchenko also commented on the inclusion of the issue of the annexed Crimea into the draft law on the Donbas reintegration.
‘The issue of Crimea was included at least by the fact that we agreed to determine the date of the beginning of the occupation and it begins from the events in Crimea. The amendments to the law will be packaged and they will be submitted for this law also in some blocks. I think that it is a right decision’.
233 MPs supported the draft law ‘On the reintegration of Donbas’ in the first reading in October. And the document was prepared for the second reading by the committee. The meeting of the National Security Committee took place on November 6 but the MP only discussed the document without making amendments. Sergy Pashchynsky, the Chairman of the Committee appealed to the Foreign Ministry, Justice Ministry and Administration of the President with a request to express the attitude towards the date of the beginning of the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
The committee held the next meeting on November 8. Artur Gerasimov, the Head of Petro Poroshenko Bloc said that the members of the committee considered the amendments to the draft law in the blocks.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine established February 20, 2014, as the date of the beginning of the temporary occupation of Crimea in September 2015.
