Database of Ukrainian residents with around 53 million personal data records found on Internet

A database containing almost 53 million records of Ukrainians’ personal data has been found on the Internet. The press service of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights reported this.

"A website with a database of residents of Ukraine, which may contain personal data: name, date of birth, telephone number, town, street, house and apartment number found on the Internet," the statement reads.

It is noted that, according to the the website, the database may contain almost 53 million records.

Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights sent a letter to the National Police of Ukraine to launch pre-trial Investigations and take appropriate measures.

Earlier, in late August, the screenshots from the state portal with data on vaccination from Covid-19 in Ukraine spread in social networks. They allegedly contain personal data of patients. The Ministry of Health commented on the incident, saying the news about screenshots was fake.
