The vessel of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Balta, damaged the day before in the Black Sea, was returned to the point of permanent deployment in the city of Odesa, the press service of the Navy of the Armed Forces reports.
"Despite the stormy conditions, thanks to the skillful and prompt actions of the crew, the consequences of the emergency situation were localized and further flooding of the ship's compartments was prevented. The training of personnel has played a major role in the struggle for the ship's survivability," the Navy states.
The agency also added that the ship will be restored in a "short time", after which it will continue to perform its assigned tasks.
As it was reported earlier, as a result of worsening weather, a warship of the Ukrainian Navy was damaged during missions in the Black Sea on October 13. On the only demagnetization ship of the Ukrainian Navy U-811 Balta near the island of Snake flooded two compartments.
Eight ships and boats were involved in the rescue operation, as well as four aircraft units.
