The damaged plane made an emergency landing not far from Lviv, as Lviv City Council MP Ihor Zinkevych reported on Facebook.

Antonov An-12 landed near the cemetery in Sokilnyky. Seven people were aboard.

As MP stated, there are four deceased, according to Ukraine's Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Krykliy.

Later State Emergency Service reported that transport plane An-12 disappeared from the radar during the line up for landing not far from International Airport Lviv about 7:10 a.m.

At 7:29 a.m., one member of the crew made contact and reported that An-12 plane crash-landed.

At 7:46 a.m., An-12 was found 1.5 km away from the airstrip.

No burning is observed. The liberation of the crew from the damaged plane takes place. 41 personnel and 7 units of equipment are involved.

The plane was in operation for 51 years.

Earlier a Ukrainian Su-27 fighter jet crashed at around while attempting to land during a scheduled flight. Major Oleksandr Fomenko died at the age of 43. He was chief of the air combat training unit of the tactical aviation brigade of the Air Command Center of the Air Force of Ukraine.
