The Cyber Police of Ukraine reported spreading of a virus known as Scarab, according to their press service.
The virus was first seen by the cyber police in June 2017. On November 24, it started spreading through botnet Necurs. Over 12.5 million emails containing Scarab ransomware were sent.
The receivers saw something looking like attached documents, but in fact, there was an archived computer virus.
Over 24 hours, the Cyber Police received no reports on the virus. The police recommend to pay close attention to all emails and not open documents, even if they come from a known source.
