Russia’s Ministry of Defense is to send young people of the occupied Crimea to serve in various regions in Russia. This was reported by Ria News.
It is noted that this will happen for the first time since the occupation of Crimea in 2014, earlier Crimean people were left to serve on the peninsula.
"Crimean conscripts will mostly serve in Krasnodar, Moscow and Ivanovo regions. A small percentage of draftees will be performing military duty in other regions," the commander of organization and mobilization headquarters in Southern Military Region informed.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister earlier noted that according to the adopted UN resolution on human rights in the occupied Crimea, Russian occupants are forbidden to call up the residents of Ukrainian peninsula to the Armed Forces.
"I want to stress that the resolution insists on the prohibition of conscription into the occupant’s armed forces in the occupied territory. There is an appeal to country-aggressor in accordance with the international law," Klimkin said.
