The Crimean so-called “Prosecutor’s Office” requests four more years of imprisonment for Volodymyr Balukh, a Ukrainian political prisoner, on the second “case”, as Hromadske reports.

According to the information, the “prosecutor” requests the court to sentence Balukh to four years of imprisonment in an ordinary regime facility. He is accused of “disorganization of work of Rozdolne detention center”, in the alleged beating of Valeriy Tkachenko, the chief of the temporary detention facility in Rozdolne village.

The political prisoner stated that it was Tkachenko who started the fight.

Therefore, if the application is satisfied, four years will be added to Balukh’s previous sentence. Then, the sentence will be six years. Additionally, he has to pay a fine of $157,6.

Reportedly, Volodymyr Balukh was sentenced to three years and seven months of colony-settlement for allegedly unlawful storage of ammunition in the occupied Crimea. Human rights defenders think that he was repressed for pro-Ukrainian position for putting up a Ukrainian flag in his backyard. Later, the court reduced his sentence to two months, by excluding the ammunition purchase clause.

On April 2, Olga Dinze, Volodymyr Balukh's attorney claimed that falsely detained was beaten up by the convoy after the appeal. The administration of the detention facility refused to give Balukh water due to his proclamation of hunger strike.

On June 7, it was reported that because of the long-term hunger strike Balukh lost 30 kg. Mariana Betsa, the Speaker of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noted that Blukh was in a critical condition on June 15. At the same time, the court extended his sentence to August 14.
