“Emergency control system and line cut-off worked on Taman electric substation sue to the voltage jumps. The entire Crimea was left without power. The energy supply will be restored within three hours,” the message says.
Alim Aliyev, the program director of the Crimean House, in the commentary for 112 Ukraine noted that there are mobile communication disruptions on the peninsula.
“There are also issues. It (mobile communication) has not been restored yet. For instance, when one calls from Ukraine’s inland part someone on the peninsula, they can not reach, as there is no signal,” Aliyev stated.
The blackout of the light in Crimea continues occurring despite the launching of the third line of the Russian power bridge in spring of 2016. Since December of 2015, energy supply from Ukraine to Crimea was cut off because the power tower in Kherson region was damaged. Now, Crimea supplies itself by its own generation, the generation facilities from Russia and the power bridge with the Kuban.
Later, it was reported that the power supply on the peninsula was partially restored. According to the press office of Krymenergo, power supply, in particular, was restored in Simferopol, Sevastopol, Southern Coast of Crimea.
