An outbreak of coronavirus has already begun in Ukraine. In a week the incidence rates may exceed the European average, head of the Center for Health Economics of the Kyiv School of Economics Yuriy Hanichenko announced during a briefing.
He noted that today the pace of distribution of Covid in Ukraine is comparable to European. However, the number of new Covid cases has increased by 68% in the last week.
“Next week, Ukraine will be able to cross the mark of a large plateau and the incidence in Ukraine in a week will surpass the European average,” added the director of KSE.
As it was reported earlier, Ukraine passes to a yellow zone of epidemiological safety starting on Thursday, September 23.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers updated the quarantine rules, and, according to the new rules, in addition to the mask regime and the requirement to keep a distance, the "yellow" prohibits:
- mass events with the participation of more than 1 person per 4 square meters of the area of the premises or territory;
- occupancy of cinemas and other cultural institutions of more than 50% of seats;
- occupancy of gyms and fitness centers more than 1 person per 10 square meters;
- work of educational institutions, except for those where at least 80% of employees have a "yellow" or "green" Covid-certificate.
