The situation with hospitalization of Covid patients is becoming more and more critical in Ukraine. Thus, beds with oxygen in hospitals are 80% full in two regions of the country as Health Minister Viktor Lyashko reported during the briefing.

“The situation with the number of hospitalized people is gaining threatening momentum. In some regions, the occupancy rate of beds, which allow oxygen therapy, reaches 80% - this is the Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions," Lyashko said.

He noted that in the country as a whole, the occupancy rate of beds with oxygen intended for Covid patients is 66%.

“Every two to three weeks, the number of Covid-19 cases doubles. Hospitalizations continue to increase by 22% per week," the minister added.

He also stated that Zhytomyr, Luhansk, Lviv, Khmelnytsky, and Chernihiv regions will enter the "red" zone of epidemic danger soon.

As we reported, 19,120 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Ukraine during the past 24 hours. Particularly, 734 people died. The majority of the cases were registered in Dnipropetrovsk (+1,760), Odesa (+1,605), Kharkiv (+1,255), Kherson (+1,222) regions, and Kyiv (+1,135).
