Over 2,000 people got infected in 24 hours

Ukraine is getting prepared for the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic

In Ukraine, over 2,000 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered during the past 24 hours. 40 people died, as Health Minister of Ukraine Maksym Stepanov reported.

“In 24 hours, 2,134 people have got infected, including 100 children and 160 medical workers. Totally, 407 people were hospitalized during the past 24 hours. 40 lethal cases were observed. Another unfortunate anti-record we have during the pandemic. However, 704 people recovered. Totally, since the beginning of the pandemic in Ukraine, 98,537 people infected. 6,702 children are among them, as well as 10,083 medical workers. Totally, 50,441 patients were discharged; 2,184 lethal cases were observed,” Stepanov stated.

Earlier, the World Health Organization stated that herd immunity would not be able to overcome the coronavirus. The WHO noted that the world community needs to look for extra measures to restrict the spread of the coronavirus.
