Given the number of deaths from coronavirus per 100,000 population since the beginning of the pandemic, Ukraine's figures are lower than the European average, and among countries with a population of more than 10 million people, Ukraine comes 11the. Minister of Healthcare Viktor Lyashko stated that during a briefing.
"In the main epidemic indicators, we focus primarily on the European region, as we are in the same season with European countries. For comparison, it is appropriate to take large countries with a population of over 10 million people. There are 15 such countries in the European region. Given the number of deaths per 100,000 population since the beginning of the pandemic, Ukraine's indicators are lower than the European average, and among European countries with a population of over 10 million people, we are in 11th place among 15 countries," Lyashko said.
He added that today the current short-term figures of the number of deaths per 100,000 population in Ukraine are three times smaller than the peak values of large European countries that have already passed the peak incidence.
However, according to the minister, Ukraine, Romania and Russia are now "the main contributors to the growth of mortality in Europe against the background of stabilization of other countries."
