The Mechnikov Hospital in Dnipropetrovsk region is overcrowded with Covid patients as Director-General of the Regional Clinical Hospital Serhiy Ryzhenko reported on Facebook.

"Covid resuscitation is overcrowded several times. There are 28 extremely severe terminal patients in the six-bed unit. Everyone breathes the same way through the apparatus, without uttering a single word," the message says.

He noted that the situation in the hospital does not improve and the "difficult night" is ahead.

“Some of the lucky ones are being transferred to the Covid therapy. They succeeded to overcome the disease. For others, the time of suffering, pain, despair, and doubt is just beginning," Ryzhenko added.

As of October 18, there are five regions in the red quarantine zone in Ukraine. The “red” level of the epidemic danger acts in Zaporizhia, Odesa, Donetsk, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

 Besides, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov stated that the peak of coronavirus incidence is expected in late October - early November in Ukraine.
