The court hearing to choose preventive measure towards suspended head of the State Fiscal Service Roman Nasirov will not take place on March 5, judge Oleksandr Bobrovnyk said in a commentary to Hromaske, according to Ukrayinska Pravda.
"There will be no trial today," he said.
"I have announced recess in the court hearing to set automatic disqualification of judge in the computer system, which is to choose investigation judge who will consider my withdrawal. This will happen tomorrow," the judge explained.
Earlier today prosecution claimed that Nasirov’s lawyers are trying to delay the case. The defense of State Fiscal Service head was also filing the request to disqualify the current judge. Additionally, NABU said that in case the application regarding preventive punishment is not considered today, they will have to release Nasirov as the term of temporary detention expires on the evening of March 5.
As it is known, the head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine is suspected in abuse of authority and embezzlement of public funds totaling some $74 million. Investigation considers that Nasirov, acting in the interests of MP Onyshchenko, groundlessly provided tax obligations by installments for a number of enterprises in terms of "gas case".
