Kyiv Court of Pechersk district will consider the possibility of convicting run away ex-President Yanukovych in absentia today, reports 112 Ukraine TV channel.

“Today a hearing on Yanukovych case started upon prosecutors’ appeal will take place in Pechersk Court of Kyiv. The court will consider the possibility of convicting Yanukovych in absentia. Yanukovych mentioned several times that he never received the note of suspicion and he does not plead guilty of treason,” the message says.

The hearing will start at 9:00.

Earlier it was reported that EU diplomats are ready to extend sanctions against Yanukovych. Ex-president of Ukraine and his sidekicks could have restrictions against them prolonged in February.
