The District Administrative Court of Kyiv found legal the refusal of the State Migration Service to provide the refugee status or the status of a person needed the political defense to Mikheil Saakashvili, the former president of Georgia and the leader of ‘Rukh Novykh Syl’ Party. Tatiana Skochok, the judge claimed this as Ukrainian News reported.
She rejected the lawsuit of Saakashvili against the Migration Service.
The former Georgian president asked to find the refusal of the State Migration Service to provide him the refugee status or the status of a person needed the political defense illegal.
The defense of Saakashvili claimed that they will appeal this decision to the court. Earlier the defense claimed that the extradition check towards Saakashvili will be finished by the end of December.
As we reported earlier, the President of Ukraine signed the degree on revoking Saakashvili’s citizenship this July, due to the false information that the latter gave while applying. In particular, Saakashvili didn’t specify he was wanted in Georgia.
