Court refuses to suspend Odesa Mayor from duty

The Solomensky District Court of Kyiv did not satisfy the appeal of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) on the suspension of Hennady Trukhanov, the Mayor of Odesa as Hromadske reported.

Trukhanov noted that he plans to return to Odesa for the fulfillment of his duties after the decision of the court.

As we reported Hennady Trukhanov, the Mayor of Odesa and Pavlo Vugelman, the Deputy of Mayor were detained at Boryspil Airport on February 14.

The NABU detectives under the guidance of the prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office served charges on Trukhanov due to the suspect of the embezzlement through the malpractice. Moreover, three people were detained on the same criminal proceeding.

The court released Trukhanov on the parole of Dmytro Golubov, the MP of Ukraine. Before this, the clashes near the court took place,38 people were detained. 

On February 26, the Court of Appeal of Kyiv has left without changes the preventive measure against Mayor of Odesa. This way, MP Dmytro Golubov stands bail for him.
