Kyiv district court of Odesa has put director of burned-out Odesa college Lyubov Kocherga under house arrest for two months. She is also obliged to wear the ankle bracelet, as Dumskaya media outlet reported.
The lawyer of the suspect asked the judge not to put the director under the house arrest as she is a widow and she lives alone. Moreover, the lawyer noted that her client could not escape the law abroad as her documents burned during the fire.
The law enforcers charge the director of college with neglect of duty, which led to the grave consequences.
While the judge was in the conference room, the suspect went bad. The ambulance was called and the doctors decided that she may be present during the court session.
The judge granted another appeal of the prosecutor’s office and suspended the suspect for two months.
On December 4, the college for economics, law and hotel and catering business was on fire in Odesa.
According to Dumskaya, some students jumped on the parked cars from the fifth floor.
