The Appeal Court of Kyiv considered the appeal of the Prosecutor General’s Office against the decision of Pechersk District Court on the choosing of the restrictive measure for Mikheil Saakashvili as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.
The judge made a decision to postpone the session until January 11. Such decision was made due to the absence of the MPs that are ready to bail Mikheil Saakashvili. According to the judge, they should be present in the courtroom and their rights and duties should be explained.
The court postponed the court session to allow the defense to gather all 12 MPs.
Earlier Pechersk Court of Kyiv refused the Prosecutor General’s Office to choose the home arrest as the restriction measure for Mikheil Saakashvili. Now the next court hearing is scheduled for December 14.
As it was reported earlier Saakashvili was detained before as a suspect who supported the criminal group in the organization of the criminal activity. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, Saakashvili financed the protests to take power for the funds of the allies of Viktor Yanukovych, the former president of Ukraine. Later Saakashvili claimed that the accusations of the Prosecutor’s General Office of his ties with oligarch Sergy Kurchenko were fake.
