Svitlana Shaputko, the judge of the Pechersk District Court confirmed on December 20, 2017 that the protests that took place in Kyiv in February 2014 were illegal and unpeaceful. Vitaly Serdyuk, the lawyer of Viktor Yanukovych, the former Ukrainian president claimed this as the press service of Aver Lex reported.
'Svitlana Shaputko states in her order that Vitaly Serdyk and Ihor Fedorenko brought the items and things prepared earlier that were used for the inflicting of the bodily injuries (the wooden canes, willows, stone-block pavement, two glass bottles with the unknown liquid that had the smell of the fuel and fuel oils or the so-called Molotov cocktails) for the court session on December 4, 2017. She also noted that the presence of such items at the court-room can pose threat to the life and health of the present people, including the representatives of the mass media and community', the advocate noted.
He also claimed that the mentioned items are the material evidence because the similar things were used in February 2014.
'During the intention to punish the lawyers, the court recognized the fact that the advocates attempted to prove that the wooden canes, willows, stone-block pavement, Molotov cocktails were used at the Maidan illegally and the protests were unpeaceful. The Pechersk District Court belied the attitude of the Prosecutor General's Office and confirmed the argument of the defense that the opposition executed the takeover and forcible conquest of power in February 2014', Vitaly Serdyuk emphasized.
Earlier the Prosecutor General's Office filed an appeal to the Pechersk District Court on the special pretrial investigation of the crimes against the members of the Euromaidan. The decision on it is not made yet.
