Court arrests Putin’s confidant in annexed Crimea until June 21

The City Court of Kherson decided to arrest a citizen of Ukraine detained at the administrative border with annexed Crimea and who was the 'confidant' of Vladimir Putin at the recent election of Russia's president in the peninsula for two months. The press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea reported this to 112.ua.

The term of the arrest is until June 21, 2018. The possibility to bail a detainee is not provided.

As we reported, on April 23, the Ukrainian law enforcers detained a woman who was the 'confidant' of Vladimir Putin at the recent election of Russia's president in the peninsula at the administrative border with annexed Crimea.

It was established that she organized and held the illegal gathering of the signatures at the peninsula for the support of the nomination of Putin for the presidency. She acted in the interests of Russia and Russian non-governmental organization 'Victory Volunteers'.

On April 24, a woman was served with charge papers on the state treason.

On March 18, 2018, at the fourth anniversary of the annexation, the election of the president of Russia took place there.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine recognized the Russian election in Crimea illegal and doubted the legitimacy of the election.

Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine submitted a draft law to the parliament that provides the revoking of the Ukrainian citizenship due to the participation in the Russian election in Crimea.
