The District Court of Poltava arrested a suspect in the organization of the Avalanche international cyber network Hennady Kapkanov for two months. This was announced by the Speaker of Ukraine’s Internal Ministry Artem Shevchenko in Twitter.
"60 days in custody without the alternative of bail for Poltava hacker Hennady Kapkanov, the organizer of the international criminal cyber network Avalanche. He should not have hidden from the cyber-police for more than a year with a fake passport," Shevchenko wrote.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on the arrest in Kyiv of the organizer of the international criminal cyber network Avalanche. During the searches in the apartment of the offender, the laptop, flash-cards and money were seized. It was reported that the court hearing that was to choose a measure of restraint for him should have been held on February 27.
Hennady Kapkanov detained on February 25 is accused of the attempted murder of the law enforcer in Ukraine and of the participation in the international criminal organization Avalanche in Germany.
The Avalanche network existed for about 7 years. Law enforcement officers from 30 countries of the world were involved in the operation to eliminate it. In 2016, on November 30, as a result of an international special operation, the cyber-net was liquidated, and in Poltava, a 33-year-old local resident, the organizer of Avalanche, was detained.
