Shevchenkivsky district court of Kyiv has chosen the restrictive measure for former deputy Economy Minister Yuriy Brovchenko suspected in the state treason as Hraty reported.
Brovchenko was arrested with the possibility of a bail in the sum of $136.125. Brovchenko’s lawyer Serhiy Stretovych reported that he will appeal the restrictive measure.
The prosecutor’s office and Security Service of Ukraine suspect Brovchenko in the state treason.
He is accused of the signing of a knowingly lossmaking contract with a foreign company for the supply of production line for large caliber artillery shells at Artem Company for the total sum of $16.5 million.
On October 22, the SBU employees detained Brovchenko under suspicion in the state treason.
As we reported Prosecutor General’s Office cleared former Deputy Minister of Deputy Minister of Temporarily Occupied Territories Yuriy Grymchak of suspicion in the fraud and notified him about the suspicion in the abuse of influence.
