Counselor of the U.S. Department of State Derek Chollet will visit Ukraine and Poland this week. The aim of the visit is to strengthen the strategic meaning of the U.S. relations with countries and the State Department reported.
Derek Chollet will discuss with the representatives of Ukraine and Poland the Nord Stream 2 and energy issues, as well as reforms.
“He will continue our diplomatic conversations with Ukraine and Poland on a range of issues, including our shared concerns about the Nord Stream 2 pipeline and energy security more broadly, as well as ongoing reforms,” the message says.
The representative of the U.S. Department of State will stay in Ukraine on July 20-21. He will meet top officials to discuss the support of the U.S. of the efforts of Ukraine on counteracting the aggression of Russia and further progress of economic and anti-corruption reforms. He will also meet the representatives of the business society to discuss the restoration of the economy of Ukraine and the possibility for shared prosperity.
In Warsaw, Chollet will discuss strategic bilateral and regional issues, as well as the commitment to the democratic values and institutes with top officials and representatives of the society. He will also interact with the leaders of business to enhance bilateral economic relations.
As we reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will meet with his American counterpart Joe Biden approximately in the last days of July or early August.
