Speaker of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group for the settlement of the situation in Donbas Oleksiy Arestovych believes that the Ukrainian authorities may change their position on resuming water supply to the Russian-occupied Crimea in the event of "very serious concessions" by Russia. He said this in an interview with The Telegraph.
"Position of the Ukrainian government could change only in case of very serious concessions from Russia," Arestovych said.
In particular, the speaker of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG stated that the water to the Crimea can be exchanged for full implementation of the Minsk agreements, withdrawal of troops from Donbas and return of ORDLO on our terms.
Earlier, it was reported that the authorities of occupied Crimea intended to appeal to ECHR due to a water blockade.
In early March, about a dozen water storages in the annexed Crimea went dry, two of them - Simferopolske and Zahorske are completely exhausted. The latter was a source of drinking water for Yalta and Bakhchisaray district for years.
