Committee postponed decision on Novinsky case
Committee decided to extend the period of consideration of granting consent to criminal prosecution of Novinsky
The Committee on rules and parliament organization postponed a decision on the proposal regarding the member of the parliament from the “Opposition bloc” party Vadim Novinsky. This was reported on the Committee’s meeting, which was broadcast by 112 Ukraine TV Channel.
“According to Article 218 and Article 220 of the Rules of Verkhovna Rada, the Committee decided: to request for additional materials from the General Prosecutor of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko and explanations to the demands made by the deputies of Ukraine, members of the Committee during the discussion of granting consent to the criminal prosecution of deputy Vadim Novinsky, supported and introduced by the General Prosecutor of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko to Verkhovna Rada from November 3, 2016 in order to review the submission adequacy, legality and validity, the legality of obtaining the evidence referred to in the submission,” the first Committee deputy claimed.
According to him, the Committee also decided “extend the period of consideration of granting consent to criminal prosecution of deputy Vadim Novinsky until the written response from the General Prosecutor of Ukraine is given.”
