On Monday, March 6, 2017 the Government commission of inquiry will start to investigate the causes of rockfall in Stepova coal mine in Lviv region. This was reported on Facebook by Hennadiy Zubko, the Minister of Regional Development of Ukraine.

As the minister says, the aim of commission is to establish the causes of mine rockfall.

As it was reported earlier, an explosion occurred on the mine #10 Stepova at OJSC LvivVugillya. The explosion led to the rock fall. There were 172 miners down in the mine, 34 of them on the emergency area. Eight of them died, another six are injured and evacuated. Stepova mine is one of the largest mines, a leader in the state enterprise LvivVuhillja, but at the same time, it is the most dangerous enterprise from point of view coal mining. It was dangerous due to the presence of methane and possible coal dust explosion.
