On May 24, Kyiv Court of Appeal released Colonel-General Volodymyr Zamana, as Zamana himself reported on Facebook.

“Colonel-General Volodymyr Zamana is released, the Court of Appeal has just canceled the decision of Pechersky court and released the General,” the message on his page reads.

Earlier it was reported that Kyiv Pechersky District Court arrested the former Head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Volodymyr Zamana suspected of state treason without a right for bail till March 27, 2019. 

Volodymyr Zamana became the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in February 2012 and held this post till February 19, 2014. Then, on February 22, 2014, Zamana was appointed as the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada to control the activity of the Defence Ministry of Ukraine, where he worked till June 2014.
