Clashes near Ukrainian Parliament - updated

Protesters use tear gas and paving stones against law enforcers. Casualties are reported

The officers of the State Emergency Service tried to put the fire out, however, the protesters used tear gas, pavement stones, tired and other items towards the law enforcers.

The Ukrainian parliament is considering a bill on the reintegration of Donbas today.

The opponents of the law are protesting at the Verkhovna Rada building. In addition, the tent city of the supporters of Mikheil Saakashvili is still there on Hrushevsky street and the traffic is blocked.

The police increased the number of officers at the site.

“One law enforcement officer wounded in the result of the accident. Apart from that, the one protester is detained by the police for the violation of public order. The fire was put out at 11:30 a.m. The situation remains under control, the law enforcers are working in the enhanced security mode.” reads the message.

As it was reported earlier 223 MPs supported the draft law 'On reintegration of Donbas' in the first reading in October 2017. The draft law includes about 700 amendments.

Moreover, the date of the beginning of the aggression of Russia against Ukraine was added to the draft law and it is a date of the annexation of Crimea.
