The clashes between the National Corps and police took place in Maryanivka village, Cherkasy region, where the ceremony of raising of the blue and yellow flag took place with the participation of President Volodymyr Zelensky as the National Police of Cherkasy region reported.
Thus, a few men tried to install sound amplification devices at the place of the event. They did not have proper permissions.
“The group of unknowns tried to disrupt the event through the unsanctioned installment of sound amplification devices at the place of the evidence. Meanwhile, the men did not fulfill the legal demands of the police officers and violated public order. The law enforcers responded to the situation and prevented the violation of the law,” the message says.
Six men were taken to the local police office. They will be identified and they will receive a legal qualification for their actions.
Meanwhile, the National Corps stated that the law enforcers “attacked the veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war” who came for the opening of the art object Heart of Ukraine.
Procherk specified that name of one of the detainees is Ihor Zaichuk.

As we reported, annually on August 23, the day before the celebration of Independence Day, Ukraine celebrates National Flag Day. The holiday of the State Flag Day of Ukraine was established in 2004 by decree of the second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma. In 2009, President Viktor Yushchenko amended Kuchma’s decree by starting the annual official flag-raising ceremony on August 23 all over Ukraine.
