Leader of the Mejilis of Crimean Tatars, MP Refat Chubarov called on all Ukrainian political prisoners, who are groundlessly detained in Russia, not to give in to the coaxing and blackmail of the Russian authorities. He said this in a briefing held after Akhtem Chiygoz and Ilmi Umerov’s arrival in Kyiv.
“I want to say one thing: it’s very important that the person who is captured by the Russian occupants, acts with dignity starting day 1, not gives in to coaxing, blackmail by the occupants. And when the person doesn’t cooperate with the investigators, it’s easier to “release” them. I would want everyone to know this,” he said.
As it was reported earlier, during the negotiation on the release of Chiygoz and Umerov, the Russian party demanded that they write a petition for pardon to President Vladimir Putin. They both refused to do it.
