Chemical plant Azot is on fire for three days

The fire was localized but it is still not eliminated

Firefighters are fighting the fire in Azot in Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk region for three days, as Oleksandr Chaly, the representative of Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, said, Hromadske Radio reports.

“The information about the fire was received the day before yesterday at around 12:00. A sludge tank of Sievierodonetsk association Azot. The fire area was around five hectares,” he said.

According to him, the fire was localized but it is still not eliminated. Locals write about odor and smoke in social networks.

Vitaly Shvedov, the Advisor of Luhansk Region Administration Head, appealed to the regional prosecutor with a request to investigate the fire in particular concerning the officer of Ukraine’s Emergency Service, as he wrote on Facebook.

The statement says that fumes and smoke are harmful to the health of the locals.
