Ben Wallace, Britain’s Defense Minister, stated that the inspection of Russian plane at the Heathrow Airport was conducted within the standard procedure of fighting against organized crime, as Reuters reports.
The Minister noted, that the check was planned and routine for the border guard service.
“It is routine for Border Force to search aircraft to protect the UK from organized crime and from those who attempt to bring harmful substances like drugs or firearms into the country,” Security Minister Ben Wallace said.
Wallace also specified that after the check was finished the plane was permitted to continue its flight.
Earlier, it was reported that British law enforcers conducted a search on the Aeroflot plane at the Heathrow Airport. Russia called it a “rude provocation of British authorities” and threatened to take responsive measures concerning the British authorities.
