Chechen Tymarov, ex-soldier in Donbas released from remand center

In Mykolaiv, southern Ukraine, Chechen Movla Timarov, a citizen of Russia was released from the remand center from whom the extradition remand was removed on the agreement of Prosecutor General of Ukraine as News N reported.

Olexy Savchenko, the Head of Mykolaiv Regional City Administration and Taras Dunas, the Prosecutor of Mykolav region came to meet Timarov who fought at the Donbas Conflict for Ukraine in the battalion of Sheikh al-Mansur.

Timarov hopes that Ukraine will provide him a status of refugee.

Andry Lysenko, the spokesperson of Prosecutor General's Office reported on Facebook that as his guilt is not proved then the extradition of Timarov to Russia will not take place.

"The extradition of citizen of Groznensky District, Chechny Movla Timarov was not planned and it will not be signed. The Prosecutor General's Office sent the assignment to the prosecutor's office of Mykolaiv region to cancel the restrictive measure in the form of arrest for Timarov and release him from the remand center," Lysenko reported.

Timarov was forces to escape from Russia due to the political situation. In 2007 he was accused of the illicit traffic in narcotic drugs and put him on the international wanted list. Timarov does not plead guilty and claims that he is prosecuted in Russia for the opposition political opinion.

He fought in Donbas in 2015 as a member of the battalion of Sheikh al-Mansur.

Three months ago Timarov was arrested on the extradition request of Russia on the decision of Lenin Court of Mykolaiv. However, according to Taras Dunas, the Russian side did not provide any evidence of his guilt. So, the decision on the removal of the extradition remand was made.

On September 12, it became known that Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine extradited Timgoev to Russia, as the Russian federal security service requested. Explaining the decision, the Ukrainian side said that Timgoev is wanted by the Russian Federation as the ISIS militant; he allegedly served with the Islamic State fighters in Syria. 

Tumgoev twice asked for the refugee status in Ukraine, but the request was turned down - in both cases.
