The change of Naftogaz management took place in accordance with the effective legislation of Ukraine as Ukrinform reported citing Prime Minister Denys Shmygal.

“I would like to say that according to the law and in accordance with all legal procedures, the shake-up of the management of Naftogaz took place. Everyone saw the accounting; everyone saw that it was the decision of the Ukrainian government. Of course, the Ukrainian government made a decision according to the Ukrainian legislation,” Shmygal said.

He also added that this issue was discussed at the meeting with U.S. State Secretary Antony Blinken.

“In conversation with Mr. Blinken, we concerned the issue of reforms in Ukraine in general, a number of reforms. The corporate reform is among them; it is an important moment of the development of our state”.

On April 28, the Cabinet of Ministers officially reported the dismissal of Andriy Kobolev from the position of Naftogaz CEO. The government held a general meeting of the stockholders of Naftogaz. The report of the company’s work for 2020 was considered.

It is noted that Naftogaz Ukraine is chaired by Yuriy Vitrenko from April 29.
