CERT-UA warns of new wave of cyber attack on Ukraine

Ukrainian Internet users are asked to comply with the increased requirements of cyber-security in connection with the attack of a new cryptographic virus

The response team for the computer emergency events of Ukraine CERT-UA of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection reported about of a new wave of cyber-attacks against Ukrainian information resources.

"We ask the owners of information and telecommunications systems, other information resources, primarily transport infrastructure, as well as ordinary Internet users to comply with the increased requirements of cyber-security," the message said.

CERT-UA promises to provide additional information in the near future.

As it was reported earlier On October 24, there was a cyber-attack on the Ministry of Infrastructure. Kyiv metro and Odesa airport were also attacked. Later, the official website of the Ministry of Health stopped working. 112.ua agency reported that the failures in the work of the site are not related to cyber attack, but with internal technical problems. The reason is old equipment.

Cyber police clarified to the 112.ua that there were no large-scale hacker attacks that day, however, several incidents were recorded.

Earlier in June, a large-scale cyber attack hit dozens of companies and enterprises across Ukraine. The attacks began at about 11.30 a.m. Tuesday; the virus referred is spreading very fast. consequently, the list of the companies that took damage from it is now expanding.
