The traffic on Khreshchatyk street in Kyiv will be closed off from 21:00 on August 18 to 2:00 on August 19 due to holding a military parade on Independence Day. This was reported by Ukrinform.

During the specified period the movement will be restricted on the site from Bessarabska Square to European Square. Previous rehearsal of the march took place on August 16 and the next one will be held on August 22.

Earlier it was reported that 4,500 servicemen are to participate in the Independence Day parade, more than 1,000 of them – participants in the Donbas conflict. More than 200 soldiers participating in the parade were awarded for their exceptional bravery. NATO representatives will also join the Ukrainian soldiers in the parade. Ukraine’s Minister of Defence Stepan Poltorak noted that representatives from 10 countries helping Ukraine with the military reform will attend.
