Russian citizen set an explosive in the car of the officer of Ukraine’s intelligence agency in April 2019

The Office of Prosecutor General has directed to court a case against a citizen of the Russian Federation who is suspected of installing a self-made explosive in the car of Ukrainian intelligence officer under the orders of Russian intelligence service. The press service of the Office of Prosecutor General reported this.

“The investigation found proves of another act of hybrid war of Russia against Ukraine. It is the organization of a terrorist act by the representatives of the intelligence service of the occupant-country,” the message says.

The said person is also accused of committing other crimes, including usage of forged documents of the citizen of Kyrgyz Republic, as well as illegal usage of weapons and explosives.

The Security Service of Ukraine conducted the pre-trial investigation in the proceedings.

Earlier, a car exploded in Kyiv's Holosiivsky district on early April 4. The blast occurred due to the explosive device's activation; the bomb itself was planted under the car. According to the law enforcement agency, the explosion appeared to be the murder attempt, and the target was an officer of Ukraine's intelligence. He is a veteran of the Joint Forces Operation.
