Car overturns due to explosion under road in Odesa, video

The incident occurred during testing of the new gas pipe, according to the National police

The explosion on Fontanska Street in Odesa, which flips a car, was filmed by the surveillance cameras. The Centr 077 posted the video on YouTube.

“At 1:30 PM, an explosion happened on the 7th Fontan station, near the Apsheron restaurant. The surveillance cameras filmed the moment of explosion, which raised a piece of asphalt and sand up to 9-10 meters,” as the report said.

According to the report, the explosion happened during the testing of a new gas pipe. The Head of the National Police in Odesa region reported this on Facebook.

“After checking the spot it was found out that explosive devises or substances had not been used in the explosion under the road,” as Head of National Police said.

According to the report, the explosion occurred during testing of the new gas pipe. As a result, a hole appeared on the road and several cars received mechanical damage.

The investigative-operational group is working at the spot at the moment. The circumstances and causes of the explosion are being investigated. The officers are deciding whether to add the information to the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under part 1 of article 272 ("Violation of safety rules during the execution of works with increased danger") of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
