In a car explosion in downtown Kyiv, a Chechen driver who served in the Donbas conflict zone for the Ukrainian Army was killed, according to the preliminary information, obtained by 112.UA from a man who said he was the victim’s relative.

“He was Chechen. Whether a citizen of Russia – I don’t know. The car had Georgian number plates. He was ours, advocated for Ukraine. I think there is a Russian trace,” he said.

Timerhan Manaev, who said he knew Timur personally, also talked to the journalists.

“It’s Timur Mahauri. He was in our battalion named after Dzhuhar Dudaev. He was an active participant of the Chechen war, Kadyrov calls him a personal enemy. He was pursued for a long time. It’s most likely their trace,” he said,

He added that he didn’t know who the woman and the child were. When asked whether the battalion participants had been threatened, he said yes:

“Yes, he was. There was more than one attempt to blow him up. It happened two times in Georgia, he was shot at a few times. He went to the front line with us,” Timerhan Manaev said.

As it was reported earlier, a car exploded in downtown Kyiv, not far from Bessarabka market. Police is working at the scene. There is no exact information on the number of victims. According to some eyewitnesses, there were several people in the car, including a child.
