FFH333 Toronto frigate of the Royal Canadian Navy and F81 Santa Maria frigate of the Spanish Navy are in Odesa seaport. The headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published the pictures of the ships referring to the informational agency of the Defence Ministry in Odesa.

Toronto and Santa Maria entered the Black Sea region as a part of the detachment of ships under the command of the flagship of F805 Evertsen frigate of the Royal Netherlands Navy and Turkish F493 Gelibolu frigate which will stay in other ports of the countries of the Black Sea region.

Two frigates are patrolling in the Mediterranean Sea as a part of Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2), they entered Odesa port for three days.

After visiting Odesa port the ships will participate in PASSEX training with the vessels of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Toronto frigate of the Royal Canadian Navy belongs to the ships of Batiste class with a tonnage of 4000 tons. It has been in service of the Canadian Navy since 1992.

Santa Maria frigate is one of six Spanish frigates of the same name. The sip was includedino the fleet in October 1986. The length of the ship is 139 metres, the width – 14,3 metres. The tonnage makes around 4000 tons.

As it was reported, TCG Barbados frigate and TCG Marti of the Turkish Navy were in Odesa port in March.
