Canada’s investment to Ukraine is growing, - Chamber of Commerce

According to the Chamber’s President, export from Ukraine to Canada has increased by 30% during last half a year compared to the same period last year

The President of Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce Zenon Potichny said that Canadian investment in Ukraine is growing. This was reported by Ukrinform agency.

"Since the launch of free trade last year, we record the growth of investment between Canada and Ukraine and increase in activity of both large and small companies. The growth of trade leads to an increase in investments and vice versa, "Potichny said.

He added that a special event will be held to attract Canadian investors in Ukraine in the autumn.

"In October, the Canadian Government Project for Trade Facilitation with Ukraine (CUTIS) will hold a special event, during which it will present various interesting projects and seek investors in Canada. We hope that this will lead to even more investment, "the CUTIS President noted.

The Free Trade Agreement between Canada and Ukraine came into force on 1 August last year. Earlier, Ukraine informed Canada about completion of FTA ratification. The Governor General of Canada confirmed the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Area Agreement by the signature after the consent of the House of Commons and Senate on June 1.
