Canadian Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan said that the country’s government is looking for ways to expand its military assistance to Ukraine, one of the stages of which was opening access to the Canadian arms market. He stated this at a press conference in Ottawa, reports Ukrinform.
"We are constantly looking for opportunities to improve support for Ukraine in this difficult time, provoked by Russia’s aggression," he said.
According to the minister, he continues working with his Ukrainian counterpart Stepan Poltorak to expand military support to the country.
As it was reported earlier Canada will also assign over 7.5 million dollars for the humanitarian needs of Ukraine.
Previously, Christine Freeland met with Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko. Both sides negotiated on Donbas-related issues; specifically, they agreed that Russia intends to undermine the implementation of Minsk agreements.
