The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on Wednesday, February 21, raised pensions of military servicemen for the average of 56 dollars from January 1. The decision was made at government’s meeting, reports

"We started a discussion on military pensions in the fall. It is a very important law that is just towards the military servicemen. I promised to raise pensions from January 1, and I remember that, but the discussions on the draft law are continuing, and they can last for a month or two. I remember that I promised, so today we make a decision to raise pensions for military personnel - on average by 56 dollars. Charges will begin starting today, "he said.

Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv said that the pensions raise for the officers of law enforcement bodies will take place in several stages. The first - from January 1, 2018, not less than 56 dollars. The second - from January 1, 2020, then the pension provision will almost double.

"In addition, we have taken into account the requirements of the law "On pension provision for servicemen of other categories of persons" regarding the recalculation of pensions for former employees of Internal Ministry in accordance with the requirements of the law "On the National Police”. Together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, we found a solution to this problem," he said.
