The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine reduces the number of offices in district state administrations by 18,449.
Minister of the Ukrainian government Dmytro Dubilet stated this on his Telegram channel.
“While the internal communication channels are not functioning well in our state bodies, in this post I would like to address those civil servants who will be affected by such optimization. The decision on reduction of the employees was not easy one but it was necessary to do it. We need to significantly improve the efficiency of state bodies,” Dubilet said.
The Cabinet of Ministers also promised to promised to “minimize the blow” for the dismissed employees and to create all conditions for finding a new job for every civil servant, even before the dismissal.
“I will repeat myself. This is a painful but necessary decision. I believe that the government should have implemented these reductions more smoothly over the last 2 years within the process of decentralization. Unfortunately, this was not done - possibly because of the elections,” Dubilet said.
As it was reported earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the reduction of staff of state of regional state administrations and district state administrations by 50% from January 1, 2020.
