The Cabinet of Ministers approved the Information Security Strategy of Ukraine on Wednesday, September 15. Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko posted that on Telegram.
According to the Minister, this document includes the main measures to combat misinformation.
“The strategy envisages combating the low level of media literacy of Ukrainians, protection of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, support by social media and measures of social and political stability,” the statement reads.
The strategy is designed for the period up to 2025. During this time, information space must be formed and protected, effective counteraction to the distribution of illegal content, information reintegration of Ukrainian citizens living in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, etc.
Now, the Information Security Strategy must be approved by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, and put into effect by a decree of the President of Ukraine.
As it was reported earlier, in August, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the establishment of cyber troops in Ukraine.
