Cabinet gives $million for Mariinskiy Palace repair this year

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine authorized the use of more than one million dollars from the reserve fund for repairs of the Mariinsky Palace in Kyiv in 2016. Such decision was made during the meeting of the Cabinet.

It is noted that after the restoration the palace will be used for festive events and receptions of honor guests at summits, protocol events involving the President and also for the stay of the Heads of foreign states, Parliament and Governments representatives of foreign countries, senior officials of international organizations.

In the time free from state events, the palace will be used as a museum of architecture and history with excursions.

Recall that in August 2003, the Cabinet adopted an order according to which the reconstruction and restoration of the Mariinsky Palace was supposed to end in 2007.

Earlier it was reported that Poroshenko and Polish Prime Minister discussed construction of gas interconnector between Ukraine and Poland. The parties agreed to deepen Ukrainian-Polish cooperation in the defence sector.
