The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at the meeting on Wednesday, December 6, approved the signing of an agreement with the European Union "EU Support for the Eastern Ukraine", which involves the allocation of 50 million euros for the restoration of the Donbas, reports 112.ua.

The funds should be allocated for activities aimed at restoring peace, for economic and social recovery in the controlled territories of Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

The Cabinet authorized the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze to sign the document. The signing will take place on December 8 in Brussels during the visit of the government delegation to the fourth meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council.

As it was reported earlier President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the law of Ukraine "On the ratification of the financial agreement (the Higher Education of Ukraine project) between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank". According to the information, the agreement was signed on December 19, 2016.

"The agreement aims to attract up to EUR 120 million of loans from the European Investment Bank (EIB) under state guarantees, which will be used to implement measures to improve the energy efficiency of university buildings and other investments related to the educational process," the report said.
